If you have any information about these incidents, please call police on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44250481148, or via our website - https://www.hampshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/cor/tell-us-about-existing-case-report/ Advice We would like to remind residents who own high-value gold jewellery of some steps you can take to protect your property. The price of gold means that jewellery is a serious target for burglars. Stolen items are often melted or sold on quickly. Avoid giving burglars this opportunity by following these simple crime prevention tips: - If you have to keep your jewellery at home, invest in a safe and seriously consider installing a monitored alarm system. Your insurance company will provide advice as to which type and grade of safe and alarm is compliant with your home insurance policy. - Ensure that your home is fully secured, take this opportunity to look around your property and consider improving any areas of poor security. More information can be found at: https://orlo.uk/8S6uH - Keep an inventory of your jewellery. This can be done on line via Immobilise, for more information go to: https://orlo.uk/gdhau
- Photograph your jewellery - Place your jewellery against a plain background with a ruler next to it to give an idea of size, this can then be up loaded to Immobilise
- When leaving your home ensure doors and windows are locked, and you should use timer that switch lights on when you go out to make your home look occupied.
- Book a free home security survey with the Blue Lamp Trust by calling 0300 777 0157 or by visiting: https://orlo.uk/hnyxa
- Be cautious about what you say on social media as you cannot be sure who will see your posts. For example, don’t indicate that you are going on holiday.
